The guy behind FigMon Safety

What's up — I'm Leonardo Figueroa, but everybody just calls me Leo. I started in construction back in 2005 as an installer at a Drywall & Metal Framing company in OKC. Hanging drywall, framing walls, getting it done every day. I wasn't thinking about safety back then — just trying to do good work and take care of my family.

By 2009, I moved up to foreman and ran crews for five years. That's where I really started seeing it — guys getting hurt because nobody took the time to train them right. Close calls that didn't have to happen.

So I went all in on safety. Got my OSHA 502, SSH in Construction, Genie Train the Trainer for boom lifts and telehandlers, the full UTA ATP 191 badge series, and kept stacking certifications because if you're going to teach it, you better know it inside and out.

Today I work as a Regional Safety Manager for a major acoustics & drywall contractor, covering Oklahoma and Texas. But I also run FigMon Safety LLC because I saw too many smaller contractors who needed good training but couldn't afford a full-time safety guy. That's where I come in.

I teach in English and Spanish — not the translated-from-a-textbook kind. The real deal. When I'm in front of your crew, everybody understands. No confusion, no guessing. That's the whole point.
